Creative Arcade welcomes an intern for Fall 2016 – Creative Arcade

Creative Arcade is happy to introduce our intern for Fall 2016. We first met Tate at Portfolio reviews at the University of Minnesota-Duluth in December 2015. Welcome Tate!

————————-

Hi my name is Tate Galle-From.

I recently graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth in Spring of 2016. I love the community and beauty in Duluth and am overjoyed to be working with the wonderfully talented team at Creative Arcade.

Along with my interest in design, there are many things that define me such as how I love laughing till it hurts, walking at night, drinking anything with ginger in it, cat therapy sessions, solving videogame puzzles with friends, consuming an unhealthy amount of digital content, and talking your ear off if I get overly comfy.

One of my earliest passions was playing the viola. I started when I was 6 and have played at events and venues with orchestras and groups over the years. The process of creating and producing music relates to many parts of my life and design career and has shaped my process and approach to many things design related. Another passion of mine is transportation design. When I was young, I was constantly sketching fabricated vehicles and could name any car on the road by only small features such as headlights. This led me down the road to graphic design and has influenced my interest in all things mechanical. My most recent interest has been with Anime and 2D animated movies. As a designer I love working with animation and motion graphics and am intrigued with the fluidity and movement in these movies. So don’t be surprised if you find me hunkered down watching an animation when I’m not working or out and about.

As a designer I like to adapt and improve, meaning I love to learn new skills and techniques and push my boundaries. Because of this passion to learn and improve, I’ve been able to learn and try many new skills from interactive animated projections to engineered and designed prototypes. I strive to expand what I think I’m capable of creating or solving, whether in the workspace or in everyday life.

I’ve been fortunate to have worked with a number of clients in northern Minnesota as a freelance designer and as a design intern with the Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine (AIHM). These amazing opportunities helped me grow tremendously as a designer.

As this new chapter of my life unfolds, post college, I couldn’t be more excited to be working with Creative Arcade and I look forward to gaining valuable agency and client experience.

Come join me on my adventure as the newest design intern at Creative Arcade as I keep you in the loop via our blog and social media.
